Victoria Butt

With over 20 years of experience in broadcast operations, Victoria is known for her sharp operational insight, consistent delivery of high-level results, and her ability to thrive under pressure.

Victoria began her career in MCR operations at Central Television before quickly progressing to the role of Transmission Controller. She excelled in the dynamic environment of live playout, broadcasting to ITV Central viewers and networking programmes across the ITV network. When the ITV Central playout operation relocated to Leeds, Victoria embraced the move as an opportunity for professional growth, continuing her role as Transmission Controller and expanding her knowledge in a constantly evolving industry.

Her natural curiosity and drive to understand broadcast systems in detail led her to become a key player in major live transmissions. While at ITV in Leeds, Victoria was involved in delivering some of the biggest events on television, including Football World Cups, European Championships, FA Cups, Rugby tournaments, Formula One, live entertainment shows, and fast-developing breaking news. These high-stakes broadcasts highlighted her strengths: remaining calm under pressure, thinking critically, and demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.

Victoria progressed to Senior Transmission Controller before becoming Operations Manager for Red Bee’s ITV playout services in Leeds. In this role, she led a team of skilled professionals, ensuring the delivery of playout services that consistently met or exceeded contractual obligations—all during a period of continuous change.

Today, Victoria is recognised as a respected leader in playout and broadcast operations. Her key strengths lie in people management, effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, and client-focused strategy. In 2024, she participated in the prestigious Rise Women in Broadcast mentoring programme, which she found to be a transformative and empowering experience.

Outside of work, Victoria enjoys quality time with her two teenage children and her 12-year-old Lhasa Apso, often exploring the scenic Yorkshire countryside. She's also a fan of true crime documentaries and is an avid reader, with a particular love for thrillers.
